If you haven’t already noticed I’ve got another blogger added to the list, Lorna Jane Mitchell.  As I did with my last post detailing why I follow the other developers I will do the same with Lorna.

I had seen Lorna’s name around the community, but I never really saw her blog until I started learning Zend Framework.  I found her blog post about Zend_DB very informative, even though I prefer utilizing PHP Doctrine.  Lorna is a member of PHP Women and will be speaking on multiple topics at PHP|Tek next week.  Also, she works for, what I consider an amazing contributer to the PHP community, IBuildings.

I’m currently writing some articles for a tutorial site, so I can’t post them to my site until they’ve been posted/published on the tutorial site.  I am also starting a few monthly articles.

I just wanted to welcome everyone to the new jakefolio.com, I told you the blog would eventually make it.  For those of you who don’t know me, I am Jake Smith from Dallas, Texas.  I have been developing in PHP since 2002, but have been active in web development since age 14 (1997).  I am a football fanatic, played college football at Midwestern State, and I just recently started playing Lacrosse…..great sport.

What can one exepct from Jakefolio.com?

• Discussions in regards to web development/design
• Showcase and random plugging of projects I’m working with
• Networking, I’m always meeting new web developers and sharing insight/ideas
• Writing articles.  I’m finally making the step out there to write articles dealing with Web Development
